In June 2023, ACEO organized the Public-Private Partnership meeting with the Njombe regional natural resource and land development department, Faith leaders and NGOs working in environmental sector to strengthen unity towards the environmental conservation.
In the meeting, the government agencies agreed to help the NGOs and FBOs to identify vulnerable lands and water sources for reforestation, to provided technical support all through to identify the right trees for different areas and purpose such as near water schemes and previously cleared forests at Njombe region.
“Collaboration between the Church and the government has been a unique thing in carrying out the exercise of planting trees, especially in water sources.
It is my request that this cooperation will continue in the responsibility of taking care of the environment in Njombe regionâ€.
Keneth Mtulo (ACEO Director) spoke during the review meeting of the project where he emphasized on the collaboration between the government and the church on tree planting especially near water catchment areas.
He hoped for the continuity of the partnership and collaboration for environment protection and conservation.
ACEO advises other organizations who might want to start a tree planting program to collaborate with the local government to implement climate adaptation through community-focused public education and outreach.
